Touching my soul

Nepal has become a second home to me, a place where the rhythms of life are simple, yet profound. During my time volunteering at a Buddhist monastery, I experienced a transformation that deeply connected me to the country, its people, and the peace it offers. This is the story of how Nepal touched my soul, shaped lifelong friendships, and inspired my ongoing commitment to support its people through charity work.

A Soul Touched by Nepal

Nepal changed me.

What started as a volunteer trip turned into something much deeper — a journey that reshaped how I live, what I value, and the work I do today.

I spent four and a half months living at a Buddhist monastery in the hills, teaching English to young monks. But honestly, I was the one being taught. The rhythm of daily prayers, the quiet moments of meditation, the laughter we shared — it all cracked something open in me. I learned how to be still, how to breathe, how to connect.

That monastery became home. The monks became friends. And the simplicity of their lives — grounded in presence and compassion — left a mark on my heart.

Outside the monastery, I met villagers who had little but gave everything. Their generosity, their smiles, their stories — they taught me what it means to live fully, even with less.

Nepal with stay with me, not just to visit, but to give back. The country gave me so much — clarity, friendship, purpose — and supporting local projects there is my way of saying thank you. From helping the Dalit Community to organizing fundraisers, I stay involved because I believe others deserve the same chance to feel seen, supported, and inspired.

Nepal isn’t just a memory. It’s a part of who I am becoming. And it continues to guide everything I do.
