Light up A Life: Your Kindness, Her Future

Ms. Sarita Baniya, a courageous young woman, is fully visually impaired and facing nearly total hearing loss in both ears. Raised in an economically struggling family, with her father in his 70s supporting the family as a rickshaw driver, life has been exceedingly challenging for her.

Astonishingly, 4 of her 6 family members are also blind.

Despite these hardships, Sarita & spirit remains unwavering. Her life took another difficult turn when she was hit by a vehicle, yet she continues to face every obstacle with resilience and determination. Now, as Sarita’s cochlear implant surgery is on the way, new hope is blooming
for her.

Thanks to Stichting  “Holland Building” Nepal for sponsoring Sarita pre-surgery therapy sessions. With this generosity, Sarita is undergoing crucial pre-surgery therapies, which will last for a minimum of three months. Now her transformative journey has begun, and we are witnessing her determination shine through as she pursues her education, currently in her third year of B.Ed at Mangal Multiple Campus, Kirtipur.

However, the cost of cochlear implant surgery in Nepal is substantial, amounting to approximately €10,000 (excluding the Nepal government subsidy). Together For Nepal is diligently raising funds to make this life-changing surgery a reality for Sarita.
